Welcome from the Local Organising Committee
The Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT) are proudly hosting the 30th World Congress of the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics. This is the first occasion that Ireland will play host to this prestigious international event, building on the historic links already forged by Sr. Marie de Montfort Supple.
This congress will bring together international experts and clinicians from speech, language, communication, hearing and swallowing sciences and education. We anticipate that Ireland will attract over 1500 delegates from across the 58 affiliated member associations of the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics. Plans have been underway since successfully winning the bid for Ireland in 2010, with a local organising committee comprising IASLT members, who are also representatives from all 5 universities in the education of speech and language therapists throughout Ireland.
Citywest hotel will be our congress home for the week from the 21-25th August 2016, offering an easy link with the city centre, whilst also being ideally located to explore the rest of Ireland. The 30th IALP international congress aims to showcase high calibre-cutting edge Irish and International research.
We look forward to extending a traditional “Céad Míle Fáilte” (100, 1000 welcomes) and welcoming you to Ireland, our Emerald Isle in 2016.
